Michael Hauser joined RE/MAX Living in October 2017. At the recent RE/MAX convention in Sun City in January 2025, he was honored with the SA Lifetime Achievement Award and ranked 3rd in the Western Cape and 6th nationally among more than 3,300 RE/MAX agents.
For the past six years, Michael has consistently achieved Diamond Status and in 2025 the International Lifetime Achievement Award. He specializes in sales and rentals in the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard areas. His team includes Tracey-Lee Otto and Nataly James, who assist with administration and sales, as well as Mignon Bakker, a German-speaking intern who also supports sales and rentals.
Before joining RE/MAX, Michael spent 28 years at Seeff, where he won numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions.
Michael played key roles in promoting South African properties to International markets, attending property exhibitions in Berlin, Zurich, London, and across South Africa.
Michael was President of the Swiss Social & Sports Club for 15 years, followed by five years managing Public Relations and Sponsorship. In 2018, he was awarded Honorary Membership of the Swiss Club. He is also a founding member of the local Neighbourhood Watch.
In September 2018, Michael co-founded Swiss Connection Cape Town (SCCT) together with the Swiss Consulate, establishing a networking platform for the Swiss community in the greater Cape Town area (www.swiss-connection.co.za).
Born in Cape Town, Michael moved to Zurich at the age of five, where he grew up. From 1985 to 1987, he worked at the Geneva Stock Exchange for UBS, one of Switzerland’s leading banks. In late 1987, he and his wife, Andrea, moved to South Africa.
Andrea works as a freelance tourist guide, and they have two children who now live in Zurich.
