In 2004 he invented and patented the PoleCat clamp and fastening system and formed a company by the same name. During this period he gained invaluable experience in product development, invention and patenting, research and development, the start-up process, manufacturing and market penetration. Patents were awarded in South Africa, European Patent Office, China, and Australia.
